Cleaning up my office, found under about an inch of bird-dust..
a small black box..
dusted it off and wiped case down and it was a 701C..!
a like new IBM ThinkPad 701C..
this one is all there, complete, thinkpad only incl. AC adapter..
boots to DOS..
case is near perfect with the exception of a tiny bit of wear on the front corners..
make offers..
might swap for something interesting..

Bill,
What do you define as "interesting"?

well, one of the forum guru's, who has been a good supporter for years, wants this museum quality thinkpad 701C..
so he will get it..
i'm not sure why it was under a ton of dust on a bottom shelf, but thats the way things are around here..
it was not with the 6 or 7 other 701C's i have..
as for the interesting trade question..
a DEC VAX 11/780 or a teletype KSR..
or a garmin nuvi 660..

Can a Toshiba T1200, Mitsubishi MP-286L or Bondwell B310 be classified under your definition of interesting? How about a boxed copy of DOS 3.0? IBM bundled Windows 1.1 disks?

I have an interesting computational system, used for almost half-a-century but still in great shape. Sometimes it doesn't conform to basic boolean logic (yes/no, true/false) but is mostly reliable in making a good decision, given you spend enough time fooling around with it. Usually though, it has a mind of its own and no matter how much proven data you feed it, it can often return what seems to be in irrational result.
It's called a "wife"

.
P.S. I can say this since she's helping our oldest daugther in L.A. move to her new apartment.
P.P.S. Sorry to waste the bandwidth, but I couldn't resist....

a DEC VAX 11/780

Now that would cost a little bit more to ship than a 701C!

An 11/750 would be just half the size though ...
