I am interested in the hard drive adapter. Do you know if it will fit in the X31 Ultrabase?

No, it won't work. The Ultrabase uses an Ultrabay Plus.

Ah, I think that it should work. Ultrabay Plus is downward compatible with Ultrabay 2000. In other words, if your machine has an Ultrabay Plus, you can put Ultrabay 2000 components in it. At least that's what this seems to say:

Oooops...my apologies....Ray is correct....I posted in too big of a hurry, and was thinking of the Ultrabay "Slim" which will not hold an Ultrabay 2000. :oops:
