Hi

I'm looking for some memory for my Old T21 Type 2647 model. It looks like the max it can take is 512mb so I will need 2x256mb?

So if anyone has 2 of them spare PLEASE let me know.

The specs I can find on the web are:

IBM ThinkPad T21 Series (Type 2647) Laptop/Notebook.

Module Size: 256MB
Package: 144-pin SODIMM
Feature: SDRAM, PC133
Specs: SDRAM, PC133 • CL=2 • Non-parity • 133MHz • 3.3V • 32Meg x 64

Type is 26479BG
Model 5578T1H 104

Thanks

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

The T21 takes IBM FRU 33L3039/33L3070 modules, which are PC100 CL3 "low-density" modules. Some PC133s will work but you have to be careful that you are getting the low-density version. For the 256MB module, that means 8 memory chips on each side; a total of 16 on the entire module. Also, modules marked "CL2" or "PC100-222" can be used (they are a little faster than what the system needs). PC133 modules are generally cheaper than the PC100s, but again, make sure you are getting the 16-chip version.

A good module that I use in 600X systems (which take the same memory as the T21) are Micron MT16LSDF3264HG-10.
