I bought this on eBay for my A31 and it doesn't work. I'm selling this for $35.00. The item is still new, even though I tried on my TP.

Why it didn't work?
Did you try the NO 1801 hack?

The hack worked, but the card didn't work. It was giving an error 10 - Unable to start device. I even did a clean install of WinXPPro with no luck.

I am using that card in my T30 no problem. You have to use Intel drvers and software though, IBM Access will not work.

I used Intel's drivers with no success. I found one site that stated to go to the registry and give administrator rights to the ...enum/PCI entry, which I did with no success.

I use it successfully in a T23, with the bog standard Intel drivers.
I let XP make contact rather than the TP Access Control.
No hack was necessary.
Is yours an IBM-version or a 'wild' one?

It's the FRU 27K9940. Unfortunately, I didn't get the 'wild" one (generic version).

Unfortunately that will not work for you, It is the 'a' band that is the problem. the updated bios made it posible to use B&G but not A. Can't think why. I needed A so went with a NON IBM version of the card, no problems apart from the fact that u I can't use Access Conections.

Does anyone know if that card will work in a T40p? Preferably without the hack?

Yes, this card should work with you T40. I'm not sure if you need the hack, but the no-1802 hack will not cause any damage.

You were right CeeDee. It was the A that was causing the problem. I went ahead and exchanged the card with a 2200 b/g. I am using card right now typing this.
EDIT: Mods, please lock. Thank you.

I'm glad I stumbled over this post - I have the same (similar:27k9936) 2915A/B/G card that was getting the same error 10...Couldn't figure it out - Not even google was helping.
Went looking for help in the T2x forum, couldn't get a resolution there either (
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... light=code). Perhaps this is it.
Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with it...

Orion, I bought the FRU 27K9940 Intel Pro 2915 abg, thinking it would work and wanting all three standards. I was able to exchange that card with an Intel Pro 2200 b/g generic (without a FRU) and instantly it worked. HTH.

If anyone here has a wireless card that will fit a T30 chassis, I'm interested. This thread got so long I don't know if the OP sold his card or others have similar ones for sale.
