Ebay shipping quest.

#1 Post by murray1 » Sat Mar 17, 2007 12:45 pm

I was just wondering if anyone here has bought something from europe via ebay. I am looking at a processor that shipping costs $15 american to canada. How long would you expect to wait before it arrives?

You need to ask the seller how s/he is shipping it. I bought a rare music LP from Europe through eBay and the seller gave me two shipping optins: 6 weeks by boat and one week by plane. I chose the former method to save money and received the item after about two months.

Ok, I don't have too much time too wait for a reply from the shipper because it is going to be selling soon, but under shipping it says Standard International Flat Rate Shipping. What method would this most likely be?

On a scale of 1 to 3, that service is 1 and it takes approx. 8-10 business days for that mail to reach US from Europe.

Stuff I purchase in the US for shipping to Toronto usually takes about a week. Shorter if shipping is FedEx or some such very expensive route, longer if by USPS ground and heavy (like an 80 pound oscilloscope). Also longer if it attracts brokerage and GST.
