SOLD Toshiba/Agere 802.11 a/b wireless miniPCI card

#1 Post by Eric Giles » Thu Mar 29, 2007 7:55 pm

This card was installed in my T40-it works in the T40 and T41 without a BIOS hack or any other workaround, however the wireless light LED indicator under the screen will not illuminate and you won't get the pretty Intel Centrino BIOS splash screen. But besides all of that, it works perfectly.

It uses an Agere chipset, but shows up under Windows XP as a Toshiba. Windows XP has drivers built-in for it, as well as most every Linux distribution. Note it is only 802.11 a/b, but for most people that is more than adequate.

$15 shipped USPS or UPS Ground in the US 48.

If you don't mind, can you give me the part number off of the card that you have? I have a Toshiba MPCI wireless card that I don't know anything about. :?
Family Daily Drivers- T430s, T530, X220
Work- Sadly, the ThinkPads have gone away...... and replaced by HP ProDesk SFF drone machines :(
Other Projects- Edge 15, Z61m (Titanium)
Historic Retired ThinkPads- T42p, X20, A31p, 701c, 760XD, WorkPad C505

Hard to say which is the part number-there are a few groups of ID marks on it that don't make much sense. But I think this is it:

MPCI3A-20/R Agere Systems

Another is:

ZA2314P04 TOS

Hope this helps!

No way for me to compare the two, but when it was installed in my T40 it worked great with very good reception-I never had any problems or complaints.
