FS: IBM A/T/R/X Portable Drive Bay 2000 - $15 Shipped

#1 Post by jamiphar » Thu Mar 29, 2007 10:46 pm

I have one IBM portable drive bay for UltraBay 2000 devices for sale here. This device will allow you to use your floppy/CD-ROM drive or 2nd HDD adapter externally. The FRU P/N is 19K4499. I do not have a cable to include with the enclosure and it is missing the battery cover and one of the four rubber feet. I'm asking for $15 shipped.

I've got one and have had a heck of a time to get my T23 to recognize it. I know you said you didn't have a cable, but did you have it working with your T23?

Sorry to get off topic.

I actually haven't used it, I've never had the cable for it.

You say there is no cable. Does it use your standard run-of-the-mill USB cable?
What kind of batteries does it take?
You say its missing the battery cover... can this be remedied by tape?
Can it also run on an AC adapter?

I'm searching for an extl enclosure for the CDRW/DVD drive from myX6 dock.
Lenovo ThinkPad X60S, Intel Core Duo, 2GB SDRAM, 100GB/7200RPM.

I think both USB and PCMCIA cables exist for it, but you can't use just any cable.

It appears to take 3 AA batteries.

Yeah, I think some electrical tape would work perfectly.

It can run on AC adapter, but it doesn't come with one. This page has some info on it as well as some part numbers.

Also, if you want to use your X60s' drive with this, I think you'll have to get an UltraBay Slim to UltraBay 2000 adapter.

I might be willing to sendthe PCMCIA cable/interface, as I always use the USB cable.

Sorry, I already have one here. I have some issues using it to install windows, but for all other purposes, it works OK.
