FS: X24 MINT with Internal WiFi & Bluetooth - Rare Model - $350

Absolutely gorgeous, rare and loaded, BM ThinkPad X24 with internal IBM b/g wifi and internal IBM Bluetooth - and WinXP COA!

This X24 is equipped with internal Bluetooth which means that it has a special Bluetooth on/off switch embedded in the right LCD hing cover. The X24 models with Bluetooth came factory configured with the same LCD cover and antennas as the X24 models with internal wifi. Only one antenna lead was used to connect to the Bluetooth card which left one antenna lead free/unused.

After purchasing this X24, I removed the combo Ethernet/modem mini-pci adapter and installed an original IBM b/g wifi mini-pci adapter. I connected the original two wifi antenna leads to the new wifi adapter. (I wanted to ensure my wifi connection was strong.) I then installed a third antenna lead, routing the antenna below the keyboard, and connected it to the original Bluetooth CDC adapter. Both the wifi and Bluetooth reception are excellent.

Since I removed the hardwired Ethernet and modem capabilities by making room for the b/g wifi adapter, I installed a 3Com XJack combo adapter in the PC Card (PCMCIA) slot. This XJack card uses one springloaded jack to automatically detect an Ethernet or modem line. When not in use, the XJack is flush with the slot opening - nothing protrudes (see picture).

All X24's also have CompactFlash (CF) memory card reader slots. I added a CF to SD card adapter in this slot to add flexiblity for digital cameras. It works great.

I also increased the memory to 384MB and installed a faster, larger hard drive, 40GB 5400RPM.

A mint condition IBM ThinkPad UltraBase X2 Media Slice with a CD-ROM drive is also included.

This machine has a mobile 1.13GHz Pentium III-m CPU with 512KB cache and is surprisingly quick.

The battery is still in the green zone and shows over 3 hours of run time with less than 35 cycles (I'd say 2+ hours is more realistic).

An up to date WinXP installation with all Microsoft and IBM updates is inlcuded. The original WinXP COA is attached and in perfect condition.

The LCD is very bright and clear, no scratches or pressure marks at all. There is one stuck pixel just above the clock on the task bar. It occasionally works and definitley is not noticiable while using the machine. See pictures.

Keyboard, palmrest, cover, hinges, latches, bottom, etc. in excellent to mint condition - the entire machine shows almost no wear at all.

This machine is complete and in outstanding condition. This is a great travel machine, it weighs just 3.5lbs. without the dock. The price is $350 plus shipping. I pack very well.

Any CPU with 512MB cache should be quite pricy. I assume it's a typo?

I said it was "surprisingly quick"! I guess it's not a surprise any more.

I fixed the typo. Still for sale...
