Check out this guys deals on eBay: brucecomputersystems

I just bought a T22 for $90.00. I need a mobo for mine and this will be about the same price but a whole lot easier just swapping the HDD and memory from the bad one. I'll let everyone know how it works out after I get it.

T22

I was watching this auction. Seems like a decent barebone deal. I'll keep a heads up on this post to see if it's worth buying from him..........

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL TRANSACTION!!!!!

Very...very good shape and really quick shipping.

I already notice that some of the newer listed items have crept up in price but still a really decent deal.

In fact...I'm typing from it now. :D

Seller only ships to the USA so if you are on any ebay other than ebay.com you will not see his items. I don't see his items when I'm on ebay.ca

He's got a barebones T30 w/wifi LCD listed for a BIN price of $150.00 + 12.00 S/H.

[censored]....if my wife wouldn't shoot me and I hadn't of just bought the T22, I'd probably thought about picking this up.

I remember this seller! He sold an X24 for $68 shipped last week and I was about to buy it. But I hesitated for half a minute and someone else snagged it!

The titles says X24 but the machine he's describing is infact T22.
Still a fair deal.

He had just advertised a T22 several minutes earlier and copy-and-pasted the description from that auction onto the X24 auction and forgot to change parts of the description. If you look up "2662-MQU", it's indeed an X24.

I seen that there this morning.
Had to go out to see what cash i had.Came back and it's gone.
Oh well.I'll keep looking i guess.
I may have found something tho.
full T22,900mhz,1gig ram,dvd/cd-rw,40 gig.A 560Z full working system.Another older thinkpad(not sure of specs).A box of thinkpad power adapters, and about 10 pcmica cards(not sure what thay are),he said about 10 sticks of laptop ram(again not sure what thay are).
All for $200.00 CDN.and he lives in town so no shipping.

$200CDN is a steal. But the RAM can't be "1gig" because the T22 maxes out at 512MB. Before purchasing, you should make sure that the other specifications are accurately described.

Your right.Just checked the e-mail i got from him.I THOUGHT he said 2x 512 ram BUT after reading it again it's 512.I dont know if its 2x256's or one 512.
I'll know more when i go and have a look at it myself.

I'm sure he has some good items. Mine arrived quickly and beeps 1-3-3-1 which I'm pretty sure means the system board is bad. It's a little rough though the screen looks good. But I needed it to run. I left a message with him.

IT WORKS!

I have slandered a great ebayer. I just talked with Greg at brucecomputersystems on Ebay and he talked me through my problem which was memory compatibility on the T21. I was testing with 64mb and/or pc 66 chips.
He also assured me that he would stand behind anything that didn't work but he gets complaints like mine that almost always turn out to be memory compatibility problems on the T series.
I should have been more careful and more resposible about posting this:

I haven't taken the time to test it out because I wanted to send this message before work and am using the only compatible memory in this a22. But, the screen looks good.

The T22 that you were referring to can only be 2x256Mb, and not 1x512. The only T2x that takes 512Mb chips (PC133) is T23.

But regardless, if you manage to get that, that is the steal of the year.

Thanks for the info.
I'm still learning what diffrent models have and can take.
This way when i go look at it i'll know what to look for and if any parts has be replaced.
I'm going this Friday for a look.

A just ran into this seller during one of my searches on eBay. This listing popped up:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0112580114

While I was going to point out that his description is kind of vague (no model/type number, no specs, not even a picture), I saw his name at the end of the listing. Something in that name "clicked". I Googled him and discovered that although nothing matched, Google suggested an alternate, "Gregory Betros". Now THAT was familiar to me:

http://www.betros.com/

This is the seller that I mentioned once before and the laptop (600E) which I've described many times before (delayed backlight activation). When I bought that system it was promptly shipped and in great condition. I have only dealt with Greg that one time (after that I discovered eBay!) but it was a good experience.

WOW seems like this guy has a nice few laptops there for sale now and cheap.
Now if he would only ship to canada i would have a few of them.Even after a few e-mails back and forth to him about shipping he wont do it.

The T22 I got from him about a month ago had a return address of Greg Betros, Attorney at Law.

Looks like he just recently changed his name:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0113759838
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0113758641

He's now "Gregory Louis".
