T20 For Sale

#1 Post by proaudioguy » Wed Apr 04, 2007 1:54 pm

In the interest of full disclosure there is a crack in the plastic (bezel?) by the FN key and by the right arrow. It doesn't affect day to day use. The part is very cheap and easy to replace. The paint on one of the bottom covers is completely removed. It was peeling at one point so now it's shiny.

It's nearly completely stock now, but with all the updates applied. It was originally sold with Windows 2000 Professional, but the COA is missing. The restore disc is included. The serial number and model are 2647-86U 78-GWLC3 09/00

My wife doesn't like the track point so I'm looking to sell it and put the money toward something she wants. It will work great for someone.

I'm looking for the best offer, but it would be nice to get $175 for it. Shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility.

Email me directly if you want a quick reply proaudioguy@yahoo.com

I'm in FL.

I'll email the html belarc file to anyone that wants it.

Edited because the admin yelled at me.

ADMIN EDIT: Superfluous HTML code snipped.

LOCATION???

Unless the model number and serial number of this laptop show that it was sold with W2K please remove any reference to an OS being installed from your listing.

Unless you're selling this unit with an Office COA and original media, please remove any reference to it in your listing.

For $175 these days, a T20 needs to be dead mint...you may want to try your luck on eBay instead of here....Within the last 2 weeks I've sold a dead mint T20 for 180 and a very nice T22 for 195...that's before the fees...

Good luck.

I thought based on this thread it was a good price.

How much is that palm rest part? With that replaced it WOULD be mint.

Showed someone the specs and they think the motherboard had been replaced with possibly a T23. I have no way to confirm this. It has a 900MHz processor, and appears to have 16 megs VRAM. Is there anyway to confirm the VRAM?

T23 MBs don't fit into T20/21/22 bases without major surgery if at all. They look alike, but the early Ts are VERY different than the T23.
Family Daily Drivers- T430s, T530, X220
Work- Sadly, the ThinkPads have gone away...... and replaced by HP ProDesk SFF drone machines :(
Other Projects- Edge 15, Z61m (Titanium)
Historic Retired ThinkPads- T42p, X20, A31p, 701c, 760XD, WorkPad C505

OK that makes sense. THANKS for the info. So how do I find out how much VRAM it has?

This board is so valuable to me.

I'm not sure I absolutely remember, but you might want to start with the BIOS or display setting under the advanced submenu.

A 900Mhz processor would come out of T22 and not T23, the latter came in either 866Mhz or 1G and above.

Your OS should be able to determine the type of video card installed, and you can take it from there.

How do I use the OS to tell what Video card I have? I'm really not as ignorant as I seem.

It looks like you are running Windows on it, so...

- right-click on an empty spot on the Windows desktop
- click on Properties
- click on the Settings tab
- click the Advanced button
- click the Adapter tab

You should see on that screen, the video chipset being used and the amount of video memory.

OK so for those keeping score at home it is 8 megs on the video.
I loaded mobmeter and it's running at 900MHz and the Bios also confirms that. If I pull out the battery it runs at 700MHz. Also the battery holds a charge but doesn't run for very long. Seems to be between 10 and 20 minutes YMMV.
