I have an Intel® T2600 Core™ Duo 2.16ghz 2M L2 Cache, Dual Core Processor pulled from a new T60P available. This would make a nice upgrade to an entry level T60 and other current Lenovo models.

I'm open to reasonable offers.

Can I put this into a Z61m? Or an X60s? What about a Z61t? What about an old X31?

T60, X60, and Z61 series ONLY.

Nothing with a Pentium M will take a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo.

EDIT - and I'm not 100% sure about the X60. Those chips MAY be soldered onto the board (i.e. not socketed, and not upgradeable).

I removed my keyboard cover from the X60 and it seems to be soldered. :x

cmarti and brentpresley, thanks very much for contributing this info.

cmarti, you seem to confirm the picture I show here. But cmarti, do you have a core duo in your x60 or a P-M centrino? Go here to find out. I am trying to make sense of all this. I was thinking that the core duos are all micro FCPGA. Another possible rule is that the entire X series is ball (soldered). Ideally I'd like to make a wiki which lists which thinkpads have soldered CPUs and which are socketed. Last question: was that graphics chip also soldered in there? Thanks.[/url]

The last question is EASY to answer.

ALL graphics chips in EVERY thinkpad EVER made are soldered to the motherboard.
