I'm from Europe, and am not very pleased by the difference in prices... the Sierra MC8755 (listed as 42T0835 by Lenovo) costs here €400+VAT and it can be seen on many U.S. sites for about $160.
The only problem might be locking. If the card from the U.S. is locked, and I can't get the unlock code, I can think of cheaper and nicer decorations.
So I ask - could anyone here buy the card in the U.S., possibly ask for the unlock code, and send it to me, cheaper than I can get it here? Possibly much cheaper, but your service would be of course not only appreciated, but also rewarded :)
Payment - PayPal preferrably, or anything where the transfer fees don't cost a fortune.
Thanks for any reply - also it would be nice to know if it's actually possible to get the card unlocked from the U.S, or I should stop trying.

US doesn't use 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA. I wouldn't hold my breathe for Lenovo US to provide an unlock code. 3rd party unlockers in US are very unlikely to have an 42T0835 equipped thinkpad to play with.

I ended up buying an unlocked Sierra Wireless 850 card for my X60s.

Thanks for reply. I still wonder then, why googling for the partno yields results on many U.S. shops.
I already have an PCMCIA card for GPRS/UMTS which I use, but it would be much more convenient to have it integrated.

Btw the partno is listed as "... for Vodafone", which irritates me, as Vodafone is present in my country, has an UMTS licence, but decided not to build UMTS network for the time being, claiming there's not enough demand.

Okay, so starting from today, price on all webs changed to $575, thread lost its purpose. I wonder if you asked about the card somewhere, so that they "corrected" it?
