My younger brother is going to start his first job back in India (he is a software engineer unlike me!) and needs a laptop sometime during summer. I want to give him a thinkpad (which will be his first laptop) and so I am looking to sell my X31 to finance buying a good T4x thinkpad (T42 preferred, either 14" XGA or 15" SXGA+).

I am asking $700 for all items listed below. PM me if you want to buy this (no lowballers) or have a nice T4x that you are willing to trade. The T4x should be in excellent cosmetic condition since it is going to be a gift. The specs of my precious X31 are:

Model: 2673-CTO
1.6 GHz Banias Pentium-M CPU
1 x 1 GB PC2700 RAM (+ additional 1 x 512 MB PC2700 stick if someone wants it)
60 GB Hitachi 7k60 7200 RPM HDD
Windows XP-Pro COA, OS installed on HDD
Atheros a/b/g Mini PCI wireless, Gigabit Ethernet
Ultrabase X3 with CD-RW/DVD ROM
2 power adapters
4 cell battery(20 cycles) + extended life battery(40 cycles)
On-site WARRANTY till March 2008

Screen and keyboard are in mint condition, machine looks brand new. I have taken great care of it, and the the laptop runs simply great. I am thinking of including a a free, unpadded flipcase (with a magnetic 'lid') to anyone who buys this X31. (This is not a sleeve, but fits the X31 really well)

Extras:
1. IBM 12" X-series carrying case/sleeve, from Targus (small wear at one of the sides, orig. price is $25)
2. A 80 GB external USB drive, with this enclosure and a minimally used Hitachi 5400 rpm PATA HDD pulled from a T4x laptop. (item is brand new and unused, comes with a good nylon case)
3. A 15" thinkpad sleeve that I bought from ebay vendor ideastyle - pic - $22 shipped (item is brand new).

What kind of battery life do you get from the smallest battery with WiFi on?

I get about 5h30min with both batteries with wifi on, screen brightness at 1 bar and regular browsing/MS office work. I have never used it with the extended life battery (without main battery), actually.

If I switch off wifi, I get over 6 hours easily.

Clarification

Just to be clear, you are saying that you get 5:30 with just the 4-cell battery? If not, could you let me know how much time you get just with the 4-cell?

No, I meant that I get 5.30 with the 4 cell + extended life battery.
Below are rough estimates of battery life I get:

1. 4 cell + no wifi + screen brightness at 1 bar -- atleast ~ 3h 30m - 4h
2. 4 cell + wifi on + light browsing at screen brightness at 1 bar -- ~ 3 h atleast
3. 4 cell + extended battery + wifi on + light browsing/office at screen brightness 1 bar -- 5h 30m atleast
4. 4 cell + extended battery + wifi off + office/pdf -- ~ atleast 6 hours, sometimes more.
