62P4551 Port Replicator II - PSU Wanted

#1 Post by peetm » Sun Apr 08, 2007 4:58 am

I bought this on eBay but when it arrived I couldn't use it - I figured that my T41's PSU would plug into it. So, I need a PSU for the Port Replicator - a Four Pin thingmy.

I believe that the part numbers of two suitable PSUs are 02K7093 and 02k7085 - I don't know the difference between these two though.

Anyone know which I need, and does anyone have one to sell please?

I believe you got a Mini-dock and not a Portreplicator II.

The Portreplicator II can use the normal ThinkPad adapter, the Minidock uses the 4-Pin Adapter with 4 Pins and is a 120W adapter.

The same happened to me, but I was lucky and could send it back because the key was missing and it was locked.

I think the 120W Apapters aren't so easy to come by.

Here's a link to a pic of what I got ...

MiniDock or Replicator II then?

The eBay [.co.uk] item ID is 220085438523, it was sold as the latter.

However, my T41 fits it, and it's just the PSU I need to use it now.

Peetm;

I think this is what you have:

The differences between the MiniDock and Port replicator II are small. Mini dock has a key lock, and an extra USB port on the rear. Port Replicator can use the standard 72W power brick, the MiniDock requires a 120W power brick. I have seen these on eBay, you can also purchase seperately from IBM direct.

Here's an auction for one: eBay 120W Adapter I have purchased from Compuvest before and they are generally a good seller. With all online sellers though, check the product carefully to make sure they are not sending you a used or refurbed unit, while actually advertising it as brand new. That has happened to me before w/Compuvest, but they gave a refund without hassle.

Part numbers for the 120w brick:

2P9150/02K7086 (US)
2P9153/02K7088 (UK)

Find the seven digit product number (expressed in the format XXXX-XXX) on the back of the dock you have. You can find out all about it at the Lenovo web site.[/url]
T43 1.8 / 2GB / 60GB 7K100 X31 1.4GHz / 2GB / 60GB 7K100
T20 700MHz / 512MB / 40GB 570E 500MHz / 320 MB
570 366MHz / 64MB (x2) 755CV 100MHz 486 / 8MB / 540MB

Ok, here are all the numbers of this:

P/N 62P4551
FRU P/N 13R0291

Type 2878 S/N 98-B8246

There's also a small sticker that has 3962 on it.

So, could someone help me find what PSU[s] this will work with please?

Also, if anyone could tell me what FRU means - I'd appreciate it - there seems to be multiple part numbers for IBM stuff?

Field Replaceable Unit, a part you can replace yourself without needing an IBM technician.
