I would like to put in an order for a new T42, 15' screen 1400 x 1050 - 1600 x 1280, 2.0 Ghz, 512 - 1024 MB, 32 -64 MB Video, 80 GB HDD, DVD-RW. Would like to spend around $3,000.00. What do you think they will be going for?

I also would like to purchase a T42p when it comes out. The only problem that will prevent me to do so, is my current financial state (which is about $1400 on my bank account). I just wonder if you are planning a 50% sale in the future (let's call it Bill's Huge ThinkPad Giveaway). If so, please let me know, so I can put my order on time.

i will take a preorder..
you give me the model number and a $200 deposit..
or, at least, detailed specs..
you get the first units i get..
also, if i get any kind of an initial discount, i'll pass it along..
OTH if the usual early discount is in place i'll want web list price..
but i'll give free ground shipping in the USA..

if the 1200x1600 is not an early release, then what..??

it appears not..

you can wait to see what models are announced..

to get early delivery, place your order early..
the more thinkpads i can order the faster i will get delivery and i might be able to get a better price..

Where do I mail the $200.00 deposit?
I'll send you a money order.
If the 2Ghz machines are announced while I'm waiting, can I change my order to reflect the newer machine?

So far it looks like the one I want will be the 2373-CYU, unless a 2 Ghz machine comes out. Can you give me an idea what the price for this will be?
