Sold: Beautiful IBM ThinkPad X40 still under warranty (six more weeks!) plus X4 Ultrabase Dock. $600.00 plus shipping. PayPal preferred.

This has been my personal X40. It is a great machine - fast with lots of features and light. With the included extended battery it weights exactly 3lbs. 4oz.

The operating condition is perfect. Everything works as it should, it's quiet, cool and fast.

The condition is excellent. It shows wear on the corners and has some scuffs and scratches on the bottom, see picture links. When I traveled for vacation, this X40 came with me. The keyboard and palmrest are near mint. The display and bezel are mint. No bad pixels, no scratches.

It has built-in Atheros B/G wifi, an SD card reader, USB 2.0, 40GB drive, 512MB RAM (on system board, can go up to 1.5GB), full specs. below. A brand new X4 Ultrabase is included. The X4 Ultrabase has an UltraBay Slim slot for an optical drive. Only a blank filler piece is included - no optical drive. It uses the same drives as the T4x-series ThinkPads.

The extended battery is in very good condition, the green zone on IBM's utility, the full, current battery specs. are below. It lasts over 3 hours.

WinXP Pro COA is included. The Rescue and Recovery partition is intact. It allows the restoration to factory specs with WinXP SP2 - most current image available. Original AC adapter included.

Good question. I picked up another X40 that is not so perfect, but will be when I'm done with it - I only need a few more parts.

Anyway, I love X40's and will continue to use one for travel.

And I promised to myself-no more small laptops once the company has given me a POS ToughBook...which sucks but is free...

Ed, If I were not going on vacation Thursday, you'd be $600 richer and I'd be on my way to being divorced...

All jokes aside, beautiful machine. I'd be very surprised if it lasts more than 24 hours on this forum.

No need for sadness with this one. Add $30 and I'll include an UltraBay Slim DVD from a T4x.

A sale is now pending with a new forum member that is establishing a new PayPal account in Europe. It will take a while - maybe a week - to complete the entire transaction.

(Yes, I'm somewhat concerned about the risk...I've had several successful transatlantic transactions, though...)

I will queue up interested backup buyers.

Queue me up too. I'd be thrilled to buy it the Euro buyer falls through and yhlin passes on it.

And remember, my office is all of three blocks from yours, Ed. How much easier can a transaction get?

This X40 has been sold. Thank you for your interest and a special thanks to a new European forum member, DennyCrane, for being very understanding. He gave up his right to purchase so I could execute a less complicated sale. Much appreciated.
