SOLD: ThinkPad T41 1.7GHz 60GB(7200RPM) 1GB RAM SXGA+

#1 Post by syedj » Thu Apr 19, 2007 9:42 am

I have a very clean T41 that I am thinking of selling. I have a T60 and a T43p (from work) so this laptop is just collecting dust right now.

Product: ThinkPad T41 2373-9FU

Original description: P M 1.7GHz, 512MB RAM, 60GB 7200rpm HDD,
14.1 SXGA+(1400X1050) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 9000,
802.11a/b/g wireless(MPCI),
Bluetooth/Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip(TCPA),
6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro

I have upgraded the RAM to 1GB.

Just before its warranty expired beginning of April 2007, I got its keyboard and touchpad, LCD, LCD cover, hinges, hard drive and fan changed. The wrist rest was changed several months ago. As a result it practically doesn't have any scratches anywhere and looks brand new.

I am planning on keeping the CDRW/DVD combo drive and hence it won't be included in the sale.

I will include original IBM Windows XP Pro recovery and restore media (a $45 value).

Asking $500 shipped.

For reference, my eBay ID is shah_786 .

[EDIT] Shipped to 48 contiguous states. No out of USA shipping sorry.

Wow, this is a fantastic deal. If I had $500 to my name at the moment this would be my Thinkpad very soon. Hope somebody snatches this up quickly, as it deserves to be.
Not currently a TP owner, but will be ASAP!

Great price, I'm sure no one will let it slip, grab it guys, grab it.

Just to clarify, do you mean it comes with no optical drive at all?

Is this the same class of CPU as in the T30, but different from the T42 and T42?

No, it is not.

It is far from it. Far better.
T30 is based on Pentium 4 Mobile CPUs and T4X is based on Pentium M which is a completely different platform. Pentium M is the part of "holly 3" that comprise Centrino platform (yes, it is a little butterfly with pink and blue wings  ). The other two are chipset and wireless adapter.

Other advantages that T41 enjoys over T30 are:

For T41:
# Processor has 1 MB onboard L2 cache memory
# PC2700 at 333MHz
# Supports up to two 1GB SDRAM SO DIMMs
# Supports maximum memory up to 2GB RAM
# 32MB ATI Mobility RADEON 7500 (at least in this machine's case)

For T30:
# Processor 400MHz front side bus with 512 KB onboard L2 cache memory
# PC2100 at 266MHz
# Supports maximum memory up to 1.0GB RAM
# 16MB ATI Mobility Radeon 7500

Do you use "board" to say "die"?
As far as I know, Level 2 cache can be:
1) on-die (since Coppermine core) and
2) off-die

I believe it is on-die. Take a look at this:
