Wow, from you guys' responses, it sounds like X40 prices have been plummeting! I feel so lucky that I sold mine last Nov, when they were still worth over $700 without an ultrabase. I sold mine (2371-9EU with RAM increased to 1.5GB) for $805 locally.

a local sale from a trusted source would be worth a little more than the same thing from ebay..
also,
consider what some X60's can be had for..
that kind of sets a top value from which you would deduct for age, wear, shorter remaining warranty and so forth..
and i must say that an X60 is a huge advance over the hapless but quite nice X40 series..

Yeah, the way Lenovo has been slashing the prices of current models accelerates the depreciation of older models. But still, my impression is that the X40 is dropping exceptionally fast, faster than the X31.BillMorrow wrote:consider what some X60's can be had for...

Getting back to the original question...what's it worth?
Mine sold for $600.
Cost mods.
Add $50 for 768MB more RAM
Add $40 for CDRW/DVD
Subtract $20 for B only wifi
Subtotal $670
Unknowns
Add $?? for additional warranty (how much longer wasn't stated), add $10 per month of extra warranty
Subtract $?? for lower planar soldered RAM amount (max is 1.25GB vs. 1.5GB for the one I sold)
Are you going to sell it or are you just teasing forum members? Post some pix and get on with it. I had several backup buyers!

Now, this figure makes much more sense than $550.underclocker wrote:Subtotal $670
