Up for sale is a barebones T41. My friend bought it from ebay, but then he got a T60 from work just today, so this is up for grabs. The laptop is very new, with NO signs of usage. Keyboard and LCD are perfect, and the machine boots to BIOS on external monitor with no issues. The cosmetics are in MINT shape - practically brand new. Below are the specs and some pics:
2374-CTO
1.6 GHz Pentium M CPU
14.1" XGA (1024 * 768) screen, flawless (absolutely no sign of use)
32 MB GPU
Onsite warranty till 4th October 2007
No HDD, No memory (all covers included), No power supply
CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive
Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Mini-PCI Adapter, Gigabit ethernet
Windows XP pro CoA
CD-RW/DVD ROM combo drive
Battery in great shape < 20 cycles on it (I tested on on another T4x)
I am tempted to buy this myself to replace my X31 that I sold, the condition is real nice. I don't think this machine was used at all! If you want the serial number, PM me. I am open to reasonable offers. Payment via paypal or cashier's check.
$400+$25 (to cover paypal fees and insured USPS shipping).
Extra $60 for a 80 GB 5400 RPM PATA - HDD is from my X31.
Port rep $20 extra (incl shipping)
edit:
dorronto pointed out that this machine is showing up as a T40 in the parts look up. There were multiple 2374 models across all T4x series thinkpads, and this one is a T41. The link below confirm this.

This T41 is based on the 2374-4WU

This laptop was sold locally to a student.
I have one more laptop with identical specs available. Very nice condition. PM me if interested.

Yes, how about a ballpark....I might be tempted....
Also, is there a known problem with T4x's not working on an external monitor? Just asking since you made a point of saying that it worked on an external monitor without any problems...

Mike, I sent you a PM.
tfflivemb2, I don't know of any problems with T4x working on external monitors. I only made that statement to say that this machine boots into the bios (since there is no HDD present) with no issues. I tested it with some spare RAM I had, and it works great.
I'd like to get $450 for this machine, considering that it is under warranty and in absolutely prsitine shape. As I said, I am open to reasonable offers.

For such a clean machine, it sounds very reasonable.
Bump for Gator.

The machine looks nice and is a good base for builing a custom T4x.
Add at least $100 for AC adapter, 40gb HD and 512MB RAM.
Flawless? Is a rubber foot missing? See photo of T41 bottom.

silo wrote:W/O HD, memory, and power supply, the 1024 screen, and only CDRW/DVD I don't know. 450 sounds steep to me. Much cheaper on eBay, I think.
There is no comparison between buying here and ebay, members of this community are honest, straightforward, and you can be sure you'll never run into any fiasco's or ripoffs like you hear about on ebay, it does not happen here. Others will verify my statement.
Gator is very honest and a long standing helpful member in good standing.
Please don't compare this forum to Ebay. I have purchased laptops and parts into the thousands here, and would pay the extra for the honesty, integrity and generally good character of the members. Check the "positivie feedback for fair traders thread" then check the "negative feedback thread". Self explanatory.

Very Well said, Kyocera..I have not been able to post much or take advantage of the many great deals offered here, but I still check this forum every day and have learned a lot about the IBM brand and have had the pleasure to deal with several of the members as well as recieved help and info them...this forum and Ebay are not even in the same ballpark....all of the people here are just awesome!!!

Kyocera, I completely agree, but judging by your signature, dumping a T30 on your girlfriend may not fit into the "generally good character" descriptor!
At least I gave my wife an R51!

Price reduction definitely makes this a great deal, if this were here a month from now I think I'd be snapping it up. I'm sure somebody will soon.

She had her choice and just liked the form factor of the T30 and the rubbery feel. That machine was pretty much maxed out. The R52 with the 9 cell seemed to heavy for her, very petite.(sp)

But she will still knock me upside the head now and then
