FS- IBM Thinkpad T40 laptop

#1 Post by coolname1 » Thu May 24, 2007 12:34 am

Up for sale is a Thinkpad T40 Type 2373-14U. Factory warranty has already expired since last year. I'll provide the buyer with 7 days money back guarantee ( minus shipping cost). Aside from some very minor scratches on the top casing, the machine is in very good condition overall. The screen looks new with no dead pixel or any blemishes. I would rate this laptop 8.5 out of 10 for its cosmetic condition.

Very nice offering which can easily be upgraded with an inexpensive 1.5 or 1.6 GHz cpu.

If I didn't just pick up a T41, I might just buy this! Good price.

Good luck,
Ron

Is it easy as plug and play?

Well, there are a few (12-15) screws to remove and replace and you should use new thermal grease, like Artic Silver, but yes, it's plug and play. Many upgrades have been performed on T4x's.

No software updates, it just gets faster.

You can go up to 2.1 GHz but those CPUs run ove $200. The 1.6's can be had for $35.
