I had a T42 on sale here but I have decided to keep it and put my T60 on sale to make a more balanced combination of an T42 and an X60 tablet.

The T60 is lightly used as I have been mostly using my work T43 and shows very very little signs of usage on the keyboard. It's left the house maybe 3/4 times every since I got it.

Yes.

Yes.

And, Yes.

I have to take Mrs. Yak to lunch before she kills me but if this thing is still available this evening it might be mine!

How is this typically done here? Or even broader: how does a whole transaction procedure usually look like? I am asking because I am considering a purchase on the marketplace also, and I am largely unfamiliar with buying from private in the U.S.

One thing you could do is look in the Positive feedback for fair traders sticky, see if the individual is listed in there. If they are not I would post "here" has anyone dealt with this user before.

bill morrow does have an escrow deal going, you have to ask him if he would handle this transaction for you.

Personally I have always trusted my instinct when buying here, but for this much I'd probably ask to do the escrow deal.

I agree, the safety of buyer and seller are both very important.

FWIW, last month I sold a ThinkPad T41 to a local forum member. Although it was an in-person deal but at least it should mean something. I don't think he has left me any feedback but if need be I can call him up and ask him to take a few minutes and leave me a fair feedback.

In the recent past have also sold some lesser valued ThinkPad parts over here; feedback for some of which can be found on the "Sticky: Positive feedback for FAIR Traders" link.

Lastly, I use shah_786 eBay ID, feel free to check the feedback on it.

Well, I'm not allowed to bring another laptop into the house without the start of divorce proceedings so I'll have to pass. [censored] . But at least I can give you a bump.

As the owner of an almost identical machine I can vouch for its excellence. Being the owner of an almost identical machine is the reason I'm not jumping on this, mine was offered to me the day before this listing went up.

positive id would be a swap of driver license scans..
or a good paypal record..
or both..
after harryc's recent rip off by a long time forum member we need to be more careful..

Trust, but verify comes to mind.. :)

I highly recommend forum member Syedj. In our deal he was fair and did as he said he would.

Even though our deal was for substantially less than this T60 is going for I would not hesitate to conclude a transaction with this forum member.

Thanks Brad!

T60 sold to a fellow forum member.

I may possibly have one more available in a few days, exactly same specs and warranty.

Mods, please keep this thread open for another few days.
