FS: 390X (in a few days,read post)*Pic inside*
I have a 390X system here i i have gotten fixed up over the last month or so.
When i got it it had a 12.1" lcd on it.But the base where the lcd hinges mount onto, have been cracked. So the 12.1" lcd was just hanging off.
I got a mint shape 390X base from this forum (thanks AlphaKilo470).
And i did the swap.Put my good working 390X board into the good base.
Then i find out that the good 12.1" lcd screen is just a little smaller in size(the lcd lid) than the 14.1" lcd.So than i went looking for a 390X 14.1" lcd. Thanks to cmarti i should have one here to put on the laptop anyday.I thought it would be here today.Should be anyday.
So this is why it will be for sale in a few days.I have to wait for the 14.1" lcd to come in.
So when the 14.1" lcd screen comes in i will have this for sale...
390X system.
Celeron 400Mhz cpu(but still have the 100Mhx FSB for much faster CPU's)
128 megs pc-100 ram(one dimm)
No hard drive but has the hard drive caddy and adapter
There is a floppy drive but no cd-rom.Has the cage that the cd/floppy drive fit's into.
There is one key missing off the keyboard. It was the "ESC" key.So i took the "Insert" key and moved it to where the "ESC" key goes.
There is a battery but dont hold any charge.
I also have a few parts left over from the base swap.
old dead board.(that came from the base unit-untested)
good compleat 390X 12'1" LCD screen.
A set of 14.1" LCD hinges.
another 14.1" LCD cable
few old parts from the old board, the pcmcia slot adapter that mounts to the board. The small board that the battery plugs into, things like that.
I did have the system running XP Pro with the 12.1" lcd pluged in and it ran great.
I will test it again when the 14.1" lcd comes in.
I dont realy know what price to ask for it.
So far the only thing that realy cost me money was the good 14.1" lcd screen($50.00 shiped)
I guess now i'm just looking for any fair offers.
Shipping is from Canada, and based from other laptop i sent out to the USA it should run about $22.00~$25.00 for 6 to 10 days.
Any questions just PM me.
I'm new here ,only a few months. But i have bought and sold a few things here.

Well the 14.1" lcd came in today.Put it on the laptop.
At this monent i dont have a AC adapter to turn on the laptop.I'll have one by tomorow to fully test the system and the new to me 14.1" screen.
Once everything is tested and working good i'll let this post know.
Here is a few links for pic's with the 390X with the 14.1lcd on it.
I also have a set of Product Recovery CD's for a 390E(should work with the 390X too)(3 cd in total)
I'll also trade everything for a laptop hard drive.must be 5400rpm and newer the better. As for size i'm open to that.Could be a 40gig and cash.
I'll put a price of $60.00 plus the actual shipping cost.

Yep.Jan_Hoho wrote:Wait, wait! You buy a new screen for $50 bucks and sell the computer for $60...?![]()
Interesting computer, I'll keep watching this thread.
So far the only thing that cost me money is the screen and the 128 meg ram.
So i figger $50.00 for the screen , $10.00 for the 128 ram and i'll give the rest for free. One main reason is this was the first laptop i replaced the motherboard in.Everything went good, and works but where it was my first i cant say 100% .
So $60.00 and what ever the shipping would be.I can look up on Canada post for a shipping quote(give or take a few $$$)
Now i'm in need of a hard drive.5400 rpm+.So i'm willing to make a deal on one.

I've done business with Bill (SaberX) and can vouch that he is a stand-up guy and a pleasure to deal with. Unfortunately, I have no need for a machine like this, but this is a steal, all jokes aside.

UPDATE
I have picked up another 390X for parts.
SO with the 390X with the 14.1" screen has been updaterd.
It now has 64megs ram(one dimm)
orginal 24x cd-rom/floppy
ac power adapter.
The keyboard has no missing keys.
System works and looks great now.
Only thing it needs is a hard drive(hdd caddy and adapter is there.
AND i'll toss in the other 390X for parts.
This one has good working board(had it running Win98 fine)
12.1" screen(with extra 12.1' screen)
has floppy but no cd-rom
no bat, hdd)but another hdd caddy is there)
the base is cracked where the lcd mounts onto the base. This is why it's parts system.
PM me if your intersted. And the price for everything is $60.00usd + shipping.
I'll also give a great deal if you want the 600X system i have in the other post.
PM me for full list of what i have and price for it all..
