Not my post but figured someone would love it. If i didn't buy a Thinkpad T42 for the same price might get this instead. The only bad thing is the screen resolution.

Why is it that so many notebooks are offered without power adapter? Especially if this guy got the computer from his company and is going with a Mac, why doesn't he have the adapter, and why on earth would he want to keep it?

I don'T want to make any unjustified accusations, but such ads sound kind of stolen, don't they?

JanHoho, I have purchaseed laptops here that had no AC adapters, some people want to keep them so they can have a backup for their next thinkpad. I had three AC adapters for my R52 until I just recently gave one away, now I'm down to two and am very nervous.

I too have countless laptops, and many of them are missing the AC Adapters.

Now, since this is a newer T60, and not an older system....it would raise concern for me, since his job is giving it to him, but without an AC adapter....furthermore most jobs "lend" you a laptop, not "give" you a laptop.

If I were to go look at it, I would check the serial number right then and there, with Lenovo....

Hm, TP-owners are certainly some strange folks...^^ But, okay, it's good to know and way better than suspecting everyone of selling stolen goods. Things like no adapter, forgot the password etc. just tend to make me nervous.

We like to think people are honest here and for the most part they are. It's like an "innocent until proven guilty" thing, but if you are guilty you will receive the wrath of the many Thinkpad users here.
I have Thinkpads without power supplies too but not any 5 month old ones. Seems kind of odd but may be legit. I would probably make sure to use a credit card for some protection.

Resemble or resent?

Definition being definitely out of the ordinary and unexpected; that's me. :) An obsession to a black box with hinges that opens up to a gigantic world is slowly becoming "more" normal, but could be considered a bit strange, in a good way.

But I digress, hijacking this thread, sorry OP.

Good night.
