SOLD:PLEASE LOCK THE THREAD

#1 Post by ajkula66 » Wed May 30, 2007 11:47 pm

A friend of mine has put me in charge of liquidating most of his quite impressive ThinkPad collection, and I've decided that machines which are exceptional (in my opinion) will be offered here first. So here we go...looking for a nice T42P with 15" FlexView UXGA? Here it comes:

Product: ThinkPad T42p 2379-DYU [change]

Operating system: Windows XP [change]

Original description: P M 745, 512MB RAM, 80GB 5400rpm HDD, 15 UXGA(1600x1200) TFT LCD, 128MB ATI FireGL T2, CD-RW/DVD-R Multi-Burner(slim), IBM 802.11a/b/g wireless(MPCI), Bluetooth/Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro

changes to original configuration:
a) RAM has been upgraded to 1.5 Gb
b) Original HDD has been removed, and you'll be getting a 60Gb (5400) Seagate instead

The machine is covered by IBM warranty until 04/02/2008

This laptop is in seriously like new condition. I'd grade it at least 9.5 out of 10.

Price has been set at $850 firm plus reasonable shipping depending on where you are. If you take it without the HDD, I'll knock off $50. Should you choose to pay by personal check or money order, I'll ship for free to USA & Canada. PayPal accepted, but not preferred. I SHIP WORLDWIDE.

cynic's corner:

Q: If this is such a great machine why is your friend putting it for sale?
A: All jokes aside, the man has been declared legally blind a month ago, and although he retains partial eyesight, UXGA screen is needed like a hole in the head on his part.

Q: If this is such a great machine why aren't you keeping for yourself?
A: Because I've already snatched an A31P from his collection which is what I've been looking for (and what I can afford), along with a nice project A22P for my daughter.

References:

I've done business with several people on this forum, but it's up to them to say to what extent they were pleased with my dealings, although a couple of positive feedbacks have been left in the appropriate thread. On eBay, my current feedback rating is 445 with 99.3 positives, and I'll add that 90% of that feedback was ThinkPad related in some shape or form.

For high-resolution pictures of this immaculate machine, eBay user ID, any specific questions feel free to PM me.
