I have a less than 2 months old X60 tablet that I am thinking of putting up for sale. I had bought this from a local doctor's office where it was just collecting dust. I was planning to keep the X60 and sell the X41 tablet that I had also bought at the same time but after a week of using X41 I found out that it suffices my needs just fine so I am thinking of putting the X60 tablet up for sale.

It has the following specs:

Product: ThinkPad X60 Tablet 6366-4DU
Processor: L2400(1.66GHz)
RAM: 2GB RAM
Hard drive: 80GB 5400rpm SATA

Chipset: Intel 950
Wireless: Intel 802.11abg wireless
Communications: Modem, 1Gb Ethernet
Secure chip
IEEE 1394
Fingerprint reader
4c Li-Ion battery
Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005

Warranty info:

Code: Select all

  Type: Model: Serial number:
  6366 4DU QWERTY

  Status: Expiration date: Location:
  In warranty 2010-04-13 UNITED STATES

  Description:
This product has a three year limited warranty and is entitled to IBM EZServ service. Customers may call their local service center for more information. Dealers may provide carry-in repair for this product. Batteries have a one year warranty.
The tablet is in pristine condition with no marks of wear and tear or scratches. I also have a leather case that I will add to the deal.

I am not sure what price I should be asking for it but I am open to suggestions.

I am paypal verified and have an eBay history to go along with it.

well, we need a price in order to start thinking about it. I would probably give around 1100 for that laptop, but that's just me, it is probably worth more than that.

Put up a price, and you'll get offers. No one wants to feel like they are lowballing you.

do some research and get some comperable prices from dealers and ebay..

i would not swap an X60T for an X41T..
the X41 is really slow when compared to the X60 series..

Well yes, but syedj has both models to compare. If the 41 model is suffices his needs, it's a good idea to sell the 60 as soon as possible.

My tablet usage is mostly for web surfing, portable MP3 archive and having a large screen GPS display in the car. For real work I use the T43p at work and T42 at home. The X41, despite being slow in launching applications, is enough for all this. I think someone on this forum said that X41 isn't slower than any other comparable laptop with a 4200 RPM disk and I attest to that statement. Frequent disk defragmentation and having 1.5GB RAM helps improving the performance as well. The battery life with the 8-cell battery is obviously better than X60's 4-cell battery. And above all I could use the extra money for some other toy - err necessity of life :)

I think $1600 shipped will be fair price for the X60 tablet with 2GB RAM, finger print reader and 3 yr minus the 2 months warranty still left. Please feel free to make an offer through PM.

A lot of factors are involved in reaching a fair price. If you really want to sell it perhaps a quick configuration check at Lenovo would help you adjust to a price more likely to bring offers on your used laptop? This is just a suggestion. Remember this is a base X60, only 1.66GHz with TN screen which is not the quality of the screen on your X41 Tablet. A Fingerprint Reader is standard on X60 Tablets too I believe (unlike the X41T). RAM at Lenovo is overpriced as 2x1GB RAM is only about $80 delivered from Crucial and is of comparable quality. Then add about $100 extra for the 22-months of extra warranty. Put yourself in the mind of a buyer and figure how much more would a buyer spend to get one brand spankin' new from the manufacturer too. You will come to a fair price and sell quickly I'm sure.

Thanks Yak!

I actually did similar exercise and the price for brand new with the same options that I came up with was $1693. Thats why I thought $1600 would be a good price for it but perhaps it was still a little towards the expensive side.

Price reduced to $1450 with the same shipping conditions.
