LF: 17" lappy

#1 Post by basscleff » Mon Jun 04, 2007 11:50 am

I'm looking for a lappy and may end up going the HP route
thought I'd ask here first.

desired specs:
Intel core 2 duo cpu or closest to (from AMD's lineup) 1.6 Ghz and up
17" widescreen (1280 x 800) min resolution
1Gb ram
80Gb hdd or better
dual layer (any speed)
line in, mic in, spdif
card reader
usb and firewire
docking station compatibility for future PCI card add on
dvi out - nice to have
remote control

I'm seeing similar new items in the $800 CAD range from Futureshop Canada.

thx

17" and just XGA? Look for something higher, XGA is way too less for a 17" screen ... you should look for atleast WSXGA+ (1680*1050) or WUXGA (1900 * 1200).
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU

Rules of the road :thumbs-UP:

yeah, I agree, but I'd like WSXGA, but kept my requirements lower in case there's somoen that has something close. :)

1024x768 isn't an option for 17" widescreens anyway. That's a 4:3 aspect ratio.
