I found mine on eBay for about $12. It is made of plastic and ships from China. It works just fine...three week delivery to Seattle.

I bought one of the al-cheapy knock-offs for Ultrabay Slim from these Chinese people on eBay:

As expected, the build quality was pretty disgusting to look at - using cheap metal sheets and plastic. The adapter works despite getting stuck in the Ultrabay Slim bay and requiring excessive force to pull it out. Every time I try to take it out I feel I will break the little pull lever. I don't use it anymore and its just sitting in my collection of useless and less useless computer parts now.
I will probably not buy these cheap knock-offs again and will stick with the original OEM adapters - extra couple of bucks for the build quality are well worth spending.

Has anyone heard of / had experience with these folks:

2nd HDD adapter, etc., from China or wherever
So you got one from China, guess you feel it's satisfactory - they look in the pics like IBM OEM to me, but am suspicious. Another fellow doesn't. Well that's a risk I guess...
let me ask this: how does it work ordering from China? Australia? Taiwan, wherever? A wait one can expect. But how about customs? Does one pay a tax importing in to the US? Will my new-in-box UBay Slim device be ripped open by drug-sniffing dogs?

I've had things ordered from overseas (Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Australia, England) and the wait can vary from 4 days (Sydney->California) to a couple of weeks (Hong Kong), depending upon which carrier is used I suppose.
As far as I can tell, none of the packages were opened by Customs, nor was I charged any duties or taxes. But again, that probably depends on WHAT you order and how the paperwork is filled out on the seller's end. For something as small and inexpensive as an Ultrabay HD adapter, you shouldn't have any issues.
