#1 Post by SaberX » Sat Jun 23, 2007 3:42 pm

Well if i dont sell the 600X i'll be looking for a keyboard to fix the mouse problem.
Just wondering if anyone has a keyboard with a good trackpoint on it?And a price on it?
I may be also looking for a MMC-2 cpu for it too. Some thing bigger than the 450 in it now.

600X keyboard
I say that there today. But the thing that i looked at was in the first line...
LOT OF 6 IBM 600/600E/600X KEYBOARD & PALMREST FOR REPAIR OR PARTS (NON WORKING)

So they seem to be about what i have here now if not worst.
The one on this 600X looks like new just the trackpoint problem.

I suspect they are not necessarily broken -- just untested and as is (no refunds/returns). It would probably be worth an email to the seller to find out ...

Yes, that's correct. All 6 keyboards have trackpoint problems. Thanks for asking and good luck.

Wow. Are Trackpoints a common problem area for the 600 series?

Don't know how common it is but I think I've had two 600E/600X keyboards (out of 10) go out/show up with trackpoint issues. I believe both were of the "constantly moving" variety.

When 600 keyboards fail, which is rare, the TrackPoint is the most common failure I've seen, but I've only had five 600-series machines.
