Surplus Outlet T60s for sale

#1 Post by BeeJayEmm » Thu Jun 28, 2007 10:57 am

Since I benefited from this link to get my new R52, I thought I should return the favor. There are a few really nicely equipped T60s (2007C5U) at the Lenovo Surplus Outlet page: http://www.directlenovo.com/public/publ ... ookie=true
(Sorry, I haven't yet figured out how to condense an ungainly URL)
The price is $1,399, which they claim is half price. In the specs description, it mentions academic pricing. I don't know what that means. Here's the specs link: http://www5.pc.ibm.com/us/products.nsf/ ... p/_2007C5U
or just hit the link next to the listing.

Go get 'em!

Are you from Europe?
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

No, I'm not. Why do you ask?

When I looked at the URL right before my original post, the $2,599 price was crossed out and $1,399 was written above it. Although now both prices say $2,599, I just put one in a shopping cart and when I got to the payment page, the price was $1,399 (plus tax, but with free shipping). In my book, $1,399 is essentially half of $2,599. I realize mathematicians and statisticians would argue.

I see. I thought it was for $2,599.

Our fellows from Europe have to pay pretty high price for laptops than we do.

Also, I think if you weren't particularly looking for something special(?) then you could've bought a better machine for $1,399, with options Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB RAM, faster (7200rpm) HDD etc...
