PM me if you have one of these rare birds for sale. Can't find ANY on eBay at the moment (
except IT_Equipment_Xpress

). I currently have a UK model (02K6056) installed on the X22 and will keep it until I find a "proper" keyboard

.
On a related note, anybody know if it is possible to use an X20/X21 (02K5883) keyboard on the X22? If not possible, what's the reason why it can't be used?
Sorry for the "X" noob questions....

Sort of out of my element here.... <Ray quickly scampers back to the T2x conference>
edit: Just noticed... correction above in bold; was "
even"

Ray, x20-x24 keyboards are the same, so you can swap them back and forth. Good luck being out of your element.
Remember..........ask...before you sink in the quagmire!!! We'll be there to help you, just like you always help us!!!

Are you just test driving this model or are you expanding your expertise...

Thanks Ron... I am only going by the X2x HMM and it says that the X20/X21 use one keyboard FRU (02K5883) and the X22/X23/X24 uses a different one (02K6049). I don't know if that's only because IBM changed to a different manufacturer of the keyboard, but are electrically identical, or if there's some actual physical or electrical incompatibility between them. There are a couple of 02K5883 keyboards on eBay at the moment so I may give that a try.
@vanaya: Mostly expanding my knowledge. I didn't have a concrete plan in mind when I got the system (was an "impulse buy"). As it turns out, my younger daughter thinks the form factor of the X22 is "cool" so I will probably let her use it as a second system (
still trying to wean her off of the 600X and onto a T23

). Guess that means I should never let her see an X41, huh?

Ray, that's correct. My error. I was going to bed and I realized that when I was looking for a x21 keyboard, it had to be either a x20 or x21. Sorry about that.........

Hmm... reading the HMM a little deeper seems to say that the keyboard bezels between the X20/X21 and X22/X23/X24 are different too. I guess that means there may be a physical difference between the keyboards (or the bases are not the same;
which appears to be confirmed in this post). I suppose it would help if I had an X20 or X21 system to place beside my X22, but that's probably not going to happen too soon. I've actually been looking for a cheap (read: parts/repair) X31 for some time since it has USB 2.0. That's my plan for the next "X" system anyway...
edit: referenced post about difference in bases
