Up for sale is an IBM Thinkpad 570E laptop (model # 2644-6BU) in very good condition. Besides the small blemishes on the screen (see below), the whole laptop looks almost new. When the ultrabase is removed, the laptop weighs only 3.97 lbs, so it's very easy to carry. $110 includes Priority Mail postage and insurance. Here are the full specs:

500MHz Pentium III processor

192MB RAM (upgrade from 64MB; can be maximized to 320MB)

20GB hard drive (upgraded from the original 12GB)

13.3" 1024x768 XGA display (bright & crisp, though it has one dead pixel & a subtle pressure mark that's 4 inches long and 3 mm wide)

internal 56K modem

good battery (never used it much though, so I don't know how long it lasts)

Windows 2000 Professional Certificate of Authenticity sticker

Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4 installed

USB1.1, parallel, serial, infrared, mouse, external floppy, microphone and audio out ports

Two PCMCIA slots

ultrabase docking station with CD-ROM drive and one more USB1.1 port

AC adapter

***I can throw in an 802.11g PCMCIA wireless card with installation CD for an additional $15. Can also include an external floppy drive for $5 extra.

Where is the blemish on the screen? I can't really see it in the picture.

Is this laptop basically a more portable version of the 600x?

Thanks.

It's impossible to see it in that photo. I was going to take another photo to show it more clearly but forgot to bring my camera. I will try again tomorrow, if the laptop is still available. Believe me, the pressure mark is a minor annoyance.

I believe so, although it supports up to only 320MB of memory (256MB module + 64MB onboard) whereas the 600X maxes at 576MB (two 256MB modules + 64MB onboard).
