WTB: Windows XP Pro SP2 OEM Install CD **FOUND**

#1 Post by The Spirit of X21 » Mon Jul 02, 2007 1:16 am

Would anyone be able to sell me an install CD for Windows XP Pro? SP 2 would be ideal, but if it's SP 1 I won't complain, as long as it's for OEM licenses. Thanks!

Edit: Changed to reflect the desire for XP Pro.

Edit: CD obtained. Thanks!!

You probably want to specify what machine you are using it for. OEM XP CD can be BIOS locked and may not do you any good.

BIOS locked? Really? I thought it was like Win2K in that an OEM CD worked for all OEM installs.

Oh, I'm going to edit the post to reflect the need for an XP Pro CD. Thanks!

Yeah, most of the OEM XP CDs will check for the BIOS of the manufacturer installed before it will let you use the disk. I have a set of Win2k recovery CDs for my T21 and it checks for the IBM BIOS before it continues. I would suggest looking on Newegg for an XP OEM disk because they do sell them for all versions of Windows.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.
