anyone know if this would work with an enclosure i have for a ata-100 ide harddrive? if it does, i would definitely take this. thanks.

It's a 2.5" laptop hard drive. What you are describing sounds like an enclosure for a 5.25" desktop drive.

No, it's for a 2.5 inch drive.

The enclosure currently holds a FUJITSU Mobile MHV2040AT - Hard drive - 40 GB - internal - 2.5" - ATA-100 - 44 pin IDC - 4200 rpm - buffer: 8 MB
