Bill (SaberX) is a great guy to deal with, and the machine is as good as A22Ps come-I know because it was mine. If you don't mind replacing the USB port-or for that fact, tossing in a PCMCIA card-this is a great inexpensive UXGA system...but be forewarned that once you switch, you'll find it difficult-if not impossible-to go back to XGA..
Bump for a great ThinkPadder and a nice machine!

Thanks
But i have picked up a cheap docking station for $10.00.I now have the USB port back from the docking station.
This will do me till i get a cheap USB 2.0 card from e-bay.
On e-bay i can get one shipped to canada for about $10.00.And a USB 2.0/firewire card for about $18.00 shipped.
I'm in no big rush now to sell it now i have the use of USB back.
Great laptop.Maybe once i have some cash saved up for something newer i'll sell it.
But for now , if the price is right i'll sell it but not going to push it.
Thanks again for the deal on the laptop.

**Update to what i have in the A22P now**
IBM A22P
P-III 1Ghz cpu , 256 ram , 15" UXGA 1600x1200.
72W ac adapter , cd-rw/dvd-rom
LCD is nice except for one or two small "white spots"Not realy bad tho.Have to look for them on a bright screen.
Has S-video IN and OUT.
16 meg ATI video
Seagate Momentus 60Gig 5400rpm drive.
Mini dock that has a good working USB port on it.
Great system and in great shape.
The rear USB plug is realy loose,it moves around a bit and loses connection.
*Now have a new 4 port usb 2.0 card for it now*
This is the only reason i'm selling it.I realy dont like haveing something thats not 100%.
Also down in the corner on the keyboard bezel(by the thinkpad sticker) the corner was lifting,I put a small screw in it and now its tite and dont realy see it.
I have pic's and when i get them loaded up on the web i'll post some.
I'm now looking for a the highest Xseries i can get for a trade.
The Xseries dont have to have the media slice/ultrabase.
I'm also willing to keep my 72W ac adapter and hard drive and you keep your ac adapter and hard drive , to save on shipping abit.
Would be nice to find a X31
, but a X30 or a nice X24 will do also.
What i like to find is a Xseries thinkpad in the same value of what my A22P is.I'm open to the confg of the two to make a deal.

I'll even look at T30 ,T4x without the ram.
Heres what i'm thinking ...
My A22p with the 512ram(two 256 pc-100's) ,the 60 gig hard drive,IBM 16x cd-rw/8x dvd-rom and the mini dock , even with the loose usb is valued at about $250.00
256mb pc-100--$35.00
256mb pc-100--$35.00
IBM cd-rw/dvd-rom--$30.00
60gig Seagate Momentus --$40.00~$45.00 because it has 5 year warrenty and good till 2011.
This comes to $140.00 in upgrades (not including the mini-dock)
So if i put a value of say $260.00 for everything, this sounds fair.
So i would be looking for a trade of a Xx or Tx system in this value.
The UXGA 1600x1200 screen is very nice BUT i need a laptop more portable.

...suckerHello...
...we just place a look on your item you placed on the
webiste and we are intrested in purchasing the item..before we move further i will like to ask some question...
The second I read "Western Union" I smell a rat. Aside from which these people can't even write proper English ("home down").5. Will you be able to send excess funds (shipping cost) back to the Local Private Shipping Company via western union money transfer same day you recieve and cashed the Check Payment,so that they can make the use of the funds to come and shedule pick up the itemfrom your home down
The "usual" scam here in Germany is to send spam emails looking for "financial agents" to receive payments to their bank accounts and forward the cash (minus 10% "commission") by Western Union. The payments into the account are naturally based on stolen data and pirated accounts of third parties. What then happens is that the "financial agent" is hauled into court for using his/her account to illegally tap other people's bank accounts, and whoever received the Western Union payments (in Outer Mongolia or wherever) is never discovered.
A few months ago, an engineer who claimed he didn't realize this was an illegal scheme was sentenced to a year on probation for his participation, and will have to pay restitution to the people whose accounts were pirated.
I often wonder how naive some people must be to fall for things this obvious, but there are apparently still trusting souls in this world.

I just want to update this A22P i have for sale.
I'm going to let it go with 256 meg ram(one dimm). and i will also put with it a new PCMCIA 4 port USB 2.0 card. This will solve the loose rear usb port and upgrade to USB 2.0 at the same time.
So it's the ;;;
A22P
256 megs ram(one dimm,one free slot)
Seagate Momentus 60Gig 5400rpm drive
15" UXGA 1600x1200
Mini dock
the new pcmcia usb 2.0 card(4 port)
72W power adapter
16x cd-rw/8x dvd-rom
ect,ect...
Looking to trade it all for a nice X series thinkpad.Even ones that dont have the media slice for the floppy and dvd-rom
Looking for the highest model X series i can get.
PM me if you have a small X and like to move up to a UXGA system.
Anyone want to make a fair offer on the full system??

Just adding an update...
I will look at a bare bones systems in say a X30 , T30.Or any system that takes DDR ram thats a little smaller than the A22P.
Or even a T4x system with say the lcd bad,but works good.
I will also sell the A22P barebones with out ram hard drive and just a 24x cd-rom for a good price.
