Can anyone give me a fair price to sell this notebook for? It is in excellent condition and spent most of its time in a docking station which is also included, it has 1gb of memory. This was my notebook and I am trying to decide if its worth it to keep and hold onto as a spare. Any advice would be appreciated. Thx.

jdj, don't listen to those guys! This is a T42p, not T42. It's worth at least $750. These are the specs:
P M 745, 1GB RAM, 80GB 5400rpm HDD, 15 UXGA(1600x1200) FlexView LCD, 128MB ATI FireGL T2, CD-RW/DVD-R Multi-Burner(slim), IBM 802.11a/b/g wireless(MPCI), Bluetooth/Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro

One recent data point: I sold the T42p system described in this thread:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=43922
for $795 cash locally on craigslist.

I would agree with the 700 - 800 depending on what was included.

I'd go with pianowizard that the machine in question is above the quoted price range-I've had 2 of them and would love to get another, but the key thing, IMHO is the amount of warranty-if any-left...if there's none, my guess would be $650 ballpark. If there's a year or so, $750...a loaded-to-the-max T42P with faster processor failed to attract more than an $850 offer on this forum a couple of weeks ago...and one got sold (warranty unknown-at least I don't recall) on eBay this week for $649 + S&H...
A bump for a great machine!

Id' say around 750-790 definitely. Nice system no doubt.
