Ok guys, so i'm curious as to how much i can possibly get for the following:
Product: ThinkPad T42 2373-6YU
Original Description - P M 735, 512MB RAM, 80GB 5400rpm HDD, 15 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 7500, 24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Intel 802.11b wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro
The screen isn't IPS as far as i know i'm trying to find that parts information page that can tell you the config of a system but can't find it.

As far as i know the battery holds a 2hr charge still i'll update that later once i'm sure.

As for any remaining warranty - it just ran out. I would post the serial but most people say not to.

Given that the warranty has expired, and that you have (in most people's opinion) the least desirable screen/video chip combination, you would probably get anywhere between $350 and $450 on eBay, and somewhat less (anyone's guess???) on this forum...

All the best,

Our friend Thinkpadworld sold a bunch of 14.1" XGA T42's on eBay for between $639 and $739 shipped in the last two weeks. The specs are in general slightly better, though all had only 40GB HDD. So, perhaps yours is worth up to $500 if you're lucky. Members of this forum (including me) are cheap though, so if you want to get $500 for it, go to eBay or Craigslist.

Craigslist is a good place for sellers, and you can find a buyer.

Another data point: I got my T42 last week on eBay for $427. 14.1" XGA, ATI 7500 chip, 40GB, 512MB, 802.11b. Haven't checked warranty yet. (Just got it yesterday and none was claimed.)

$350-370 easy. Maybe more if you put another slab of mem in there and bring it to 1GB.
