Hi,

I am looking to buy a T42 thinkpad, and the most important things for me would be the screen resolution ( should be at least 1400*1050 ) and no scratches/etc. What kind of price am I looking at ? I have been looking around craigslists and found prices really varying.

Thanks,

1400x1050 is the highest resolution for the T42. If you want 1600x1200, you need to get a 15.0" T42p. This UXGA screen of the T42p has FlexView, which gives you a wider viewing angle, higher contrast, and better colors.

For 14.1" SXGA+ T42's, $550 is about right. 15.0" UXGA FlexView T42p's are typically between $800 and $1,000.

My T41p is a T42p without a Dothan Pentium M. It has a Banias Pentium M. It has the SXGA+ LCD and the same top of the line graphics chipset. Pick it up!

I have a T43 available with the 15" FlexView LCD, and lots of remaining warranty in like new condition with the original box and all.
The $1000 figure is about right.
