OK, once and again I've gotten ahead of myself and need to trim down the collection...at least one of these two needs to go, my wife can't decide :) so I'll let the buyer make the decision for her...

Well, she's just made the decision and the T43 stays...

ThinkPad T42 2373-D26

Original description: Based on 2373-8TU: P M 735, 512MB RAM, 40GB 5400rpm HDD, 14.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 7500, 24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD(slim), Wireless upgradeable(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro

This one is in excellent condition with 768Mb RAM and no major wear or flaws. Warranty until 12/01/2007. The only minus is the fact that some imbecile has swiped the original CD-RW/DVD combo drive and now the unit comes with DVD-ROM only.

Asking $450 shipped to lower 48 states. Add $20 for Canada, $50 for Europe.

ThinkPad T43 2668-49U NO LONGER AVAILABLE

As most of you know, I do ship worldwide and accept most payment methods...

Feel free to PM me for high-resolution pictures, or with any questions or concerns that you might have.

I am away this week, and may not respond immediately, but the machine is fully tested and ready to be shipped once the funds have cleared...

Those prices seem a bit high, especially for the T42. If the prices come down a bit, then i'd consider the T42. ;)

what? Really? A T40 in good shape goes for $400 with about the same specs (LCD and all that) A T41 will prolly run up to $450 and a T42 usually runs $500-800 depending.

$430 is a steal. If i didn't have the T42 in my signature i'd prolly jump on that. I just bought a T40 for $400 for my friends mom. That was in excellent shape tho and even still had warranty left.

What? $430 plus shipping exactly matches the cheapest (based on Buy-It-Now price) XGA T42 currently available on eBay. And that unit on eBay doesn't have warranty.

i'm just basing it on the fact that it has 512 mb of ram, warranty is almost out, and guessing that the t42 line is a couple years old now.

The cons are the hd size, screen resolution, lacking wifi, dvd-rom only drive.

I have plenty of spare parts to upgrade it. So, if you're willing to sell a barebones system, then i'd be up for it, but there's always other people that are more than willing to jump on your deal. Sorry for sounding like a cheapie. :)

I have 1 gb ram sticks, a DVDRW drive, Atheros wifi cards, 9 cell batteries and 80 gb hitachi drives on hand that i can throw in the machine and make good use of it. :)

Not trying to piss anyone off. Just stating that if the seller was willing to drop the price, then i'd consider. Those that sell with a "buy it now" price on ebay are the ones trying ot make a lot of money off the deal, those who start with a 0.01 amount on the auctions usually sell for around 325-350. I would know as i've watched several auctions go for this amount.

really? $300 for a T42? hmm you should have jumped on those.

As you know Thinkpads aren't your normal Dells that depreciate in value like a one eyed hooker. i see Dell D600s going for $300 and that's what's expected of them... even D610s. A D620 (T60 comparison) can be had for like $500.

When ever have you seen any T60 selling for $500 recently. Even a 3yr old T42 is more valuable than a Dell D610/20 in most peoples eyes and would be willing to pay for it even if it's similarly spec'd.

Well, I do feel compelled to say a thing or two...it's amazing that we're having pretty much the same debate that we've had around here 10 days ago regarding another T42 I was selling at the time...

If anyone wants to throw me a reasonable offer for a barebone unit, that's perfectly legit. I'll consider it.

FYI, the stuff that I don't sell here goes on eBay and sells for more. A T42 that I've had on this forum last week for $470 sold on eBay for $550 shipped, and that wasn't the first experience of that nature that I've had. But, in general, comparing this forum and eBay is pretty much senseless. On eBay, you can get away with next to a complete fraud. Here, you can only do it once and you're history.

I'm not going to defend my pricing methods, or the machines I sell. All of that has already been spoken of and then some by the people who have actually bought stuff from me, in the positive feedback thread on this forum.

Yes, you can buy a T42 for less on eBay. You can also buy it for more. A friend of mine just bought a machine that was supposed to have 18 months warranty left, and got a machine with none. Try getting that back through PayPal...if you've paid by a bank account like he has...

If the fact that I stand by the stuff I sell here 1000% means nothing to you, or means less than the asking price, then you're not a buyer for me and I'm not a seller for you. Period.

If that very fact means nothing to you, you are more of a gambler than you are of a buyer, at least in my opinion. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But I've given up on gambling 20 years ago and have no intention of going back. Good luck with Russian Roulette also known as eBay.

Stop complaining

The prices are good!

A couple of bucks less and I would buy both, and I am a re-seller!

The prices are completely fair. People should feel free if they want to spend their time and find the best deal of the week on eBay.

Bump. Still available.

I'm interested in trading this for a machine with a 14" SXGA+...anything from T23 (+cash) to newer models (cash on my part) can be discussed...the same goes for anything with 15" UXGA (A21P and up)...

Let me know.
