I am interested in getting an X40 or X41 (not tablet) in good condition to use for work. Ideal would be something with 1GB RAM, but I can live with 512MB.

Most important is price, I want to get something affordable. I already have an X30 that works just fine, but I want to save some weight. If it has a recovery partition I can use in tact some much the better, otherwise I will likely need a dock to install Windows.

Yeah I have seen those on ebay. My only problem with them is that if you look closely at the description it MAY have any number of defects, and they don't disclose which. They range from cracked cases, worn keyboards, to dead pixels.

I would prefer to buy one from an individual who will tell me what (if any) problems the particular laptop has. At least this way I know what I am getting into and can make my decision accordingly.

You can always ask the eBay seller these questions.

I have in the past when I was looking. The sellers always have lots of these (at least those who have the better prices). When asked I either get no response, or that it is listed in the description and as it is a lot I can't be promised a specific laptop.

I have used eBay before, and when it is a single seller, or not a lot, I have had no problems. I just haven't found an X40 like that yet, so I posted here to hopefully find one.
