i am glad to see myself here, ive been sitting idly by for years thinking about buying a thinkpad, i bought my first one a month ago and it's already been destroyed, my wife had an accident and yanked it off of the desk by yanking the power cord and it shorted the Charging circuit and ruined the Power supply.
so i ask of anyone willing to salvage up a 600x that i can move some parts out of my 600 to turn into a working machine again for a cheap price i cant afford much at the time. as i just had a kid...
Thanks all

I have a 600X that I've been planning to sell.
The specs are:
Model 2646-4EU
PIII 500 CPU
12GB Hard Drive (tests good with DFT)
64MB RAM (built-in)
It needs a keyboard (TrackPoint is dead), CMOS battery, and a power supply. There are no passwords and the hard drive has been wiped. I've gotten into the CMOS setup once, but haven't been able to again - the machine seems to like focusing on the bad TrackPoint. The machine is is in good condition and there aren't any cracks. I got this along with a complete T22, so I've decided to concentrate my funds on it. Make me an offer (shipping is additional) and we'll see where it goes from there. I'll take some pictures if you want.

I mean the wall adapter. I'll get some pictures posted as soon as possible.
I forgot one thing - the battery doesn't hold a charge, or at least not much.

LCD picture showing 8611 error (date & time error temporarily cleared)
Close-up of the keyboard showing the damaged screw cover (I forgot to mention this) - I had tried disconnecting and reconnecting the keyboard connector, and it was my first time working with the screw covers (the others aren't as bad).
LCD screen showing Bart PE - This is just to show the laptop working in a Windows type enviroment - it's a special set-up of Windows XP that can run from a CD. The top fourth of the screen should look like the bottom fourth, but the lighting didn't seem to cooperate. I was going to use Kubuntu/Ubuntu, but the live CD requires 256MB RAM.
BIOS info, system serial numbers, and CPU info
BIOS version and system firmware version info
BIOS screen showing that no passwords are set
BIOS screen showing amount of RAM
