To All:

I've listed a IBM Power PC 860 Type: 7249 on eBay (auction 120150103566). Reserve is only $100.

Will ship only within USA.

Thanks,
Chris

I would LOVE to have that system, to add to my little museum collection, however, not to thread crap, but that is too much for that old of a system.

Granted it is relatively rare, but it is barely useable. There is essentially no OS and no battery... Even a pristine "butterfly" in excellent working order would be lucky to fetch that much.

I really do hope that I am wrong, and you can get that much for it....

i have an 860 in my little collection..
with the camera..
sadly, the HDD had to be ground up into little bits before boeing would part with the thinkpad..

i would not mind adding that one..

would you consider a swap for a 701C butterfly..?

Sometimes I feel to be cut off from being in Europe :(
Otherwise (for another reserve price) I would have really been interested in this laptop.

It would be a good company for the 2 As/400 "portables" (no, no lcd and no battery, they are called "portables" only because they are NOT 2x kg and are enough small and light that it's easy to carry them around) I've here.

Does anyone know how large a hard drive one can actually get for this machine? It's a 2.5" SCSI drive, IIRC. It would be great (meaning a tedious chore to most folks) to get Linux running on it.

Sorry Bill, the Wife will not allow anymore laptops/desktops in the house until I clear some out.

One recently sold for around 300USD on eBay. Granted it had the software and user manuals.

I'll see how the auction goes. Who knows.
