Called "Grade B" due to 4-cell battery not lasting long. Still under warranty until June 2008.

If I didn't already have one of these, it'd be long gone.

How can you tell it is still under warranty? I can't seem to find the information anywhere.

The eBay page has both the serial number and the four digit type number. You plug those into the lenovo site to get warranty information. This particular X40 has warranty coverage until June 7, 2008:
