I'm guessing $650-$700 US for a T41p in this condition. Local market forces in AU may be different than the US, though.

If you follow the threads on this forum, you'll find out that 2 T41Ps have been sold within the last 10 days, $450 and $500, the latter had some warranty remaining...these prices that
gator sold them for were excellent.
My guess is that in this market (USA) anything under $550 is OK. I have no clue what the prices are like in Australia.
Good luck, mate.

FYI, I had no takers for a perfect T41p with upgraded (80GB 7K100) HDD at $575. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it...

I'd take it from you if I had the money - the parents are wanting to upgrade from their desktop computer and have given a laptop some though, but it's not a priority for them at the moment.
casperkid, there's
another T41p with a BIN of $875 AUD. I think that's a reasonable indicator of the upper level of prices you might expect for a T41p here in Australia. $800 may be enough. Depends on whether there's warranty remaining on either machine (I've just asked both sellers questions to that regard and will let you know what I find out)

Do you want to trade it for an R52 in mint condition with a flexview screen?

. The R52 does not do DVI out, which I would like to have ...LOL. I still have the box.

Ed (underclocker)...if you and the member looking for T41P can agree upon terms, I'll walk you through selling internationally, like I've done successfully with Harryc...it's not that much of a hassle, and it's worth the extra effort, at least in my opinion...
To OP: if you're looking for a T41P, you should really try and grab one from underclocker...his machines are pristine to say the very least. I've done business with him and would vouch for his honesty and integrity 1000%.
Any questions-anyone-PM me and I'll gladly help.

casperkid, the seller of the unit you posted a link to in your OP sent me the serial number and unfortunately the machine is out of warranty. I'm not sure whether underclocker's unit had any warranty left, but even if it doesn't, I'd give his some serious consideration.
BTW, is a T41p the only thing your sister wants, or would she be happy with a T41 or T42 with the SXGA+? I'd say that a T42 with the SXGA+ screen would be just as desirable (unless the FireGL is absolutely essential), and would be likely to have IBM warranty remaining.

BTW, the auction for that T41p ended with the winning price just under $700 AUD shipped! Good value for whoever won the auction!

KristianJ, Sktn77a thank you for your valuable infomation.
I am looking for something my sister can use during her next 3 years at Monash Uni. So It would be safer buying her an $499 Acer at Bestbuy than a 2hand laptop. I am gonna be there during the next winter break and give her my $950 T61 which are selling around US$2800 on Lenovo Australia website. Cheers

I got your PM - she'll be a very lucky student to have that T61!
