OK gang, the X20 I began to restore is now for sale.

- 2662-34U
600MHz Pentium III CPU, Lucent Modem, Intel 100Mbps NIC, 12.1" 1024x768 (XGA) screen now working beautifully, 64MB RAM built-in (320MB max), Win98SE COA license sticker. ATI Rage Mobility M with 4MB video RAM.

RAM cover is in place. MiniPCI cover is in place. CF slot blank is in place. UltraPort cover is in place. Hinges are fantastic. Case has a little sticker residue that I'm still working on. Keyboard is starting to get a little shiny.

I've tested audio, video, NIC, hard drive controller, CardBus slot, ThinkLight, DVD and floppy controllers via an X2 (not included). Not tested are the modem, CF slot, RAM slot and the battery charging circuit, but the internals are very clean and I'd wager a big pile of money that they work.

To make it whole, you'd need these parts:
- Hard drive (so many to choose from)
- Drive caddy ($7 from SurplusVillage)
- Drive cover ($20 for 3 from eBay)
- Drive screw (????)
- Battery
- AC adapter

I estimate those would cost me about $200 (shipping included).

And to really spiff it up, you'd want to add some RAM and replace the screw covers ($10 at Impact Computers), and update the OS.

Price: US$200 plus shipping.

Please send a note if you're interested, or post if you have a question.

I'd be interested at that price if you have the battery and AC charger. Let me know (sktn77a@aol.com).

Thanks

Now that would be a great deal. I don't have a battery or AC adapter. As charitable as I am, I'm not going to go buy those parts to give them away.

This could be a deal for someone who can get parts cheaper than most of us, or for someone who already has the parts.
