Product: ThinkPad 380ED 2635-6AU
Original description: P 166MMX (256KB) 16MB RAM 3.0GB 12.1 SVGA TFT 20X Win95 (upgraded to 80MB Ram with 1 64MB module)

I ran across this deal today and this thing looks like it has never been used. The BIOS battery had to be replaced and the main battery is completely dead. It boots into a pretty clean install of Win 95 with Office 97 installed. There is a 64MB RAM module in it for 80MB total.
It comes with a power adapter nothing else. No manuals, no restore cd's, no options. The screen is bright and the keyboard is not shiney.
I'll provide pic's if there is any interest.

It ships August 20 to the highest bidder. Bidding ends at 24:00 August 19.
$10.00 shipping, this thing is a brick.
PM me with offers. Paypal or Bidpay.

Update: Current highest offer is $40.00

If nobody wants it I guess I will start my own little Thinkpad museum.

WOW...that one is almost tempting enough to add to my collection. I could probably sell mine for the same price, and replace it with this one. I haven't seen another one even close to this condition. Are you sure that you didn't take it out of the brand new box?!?!?

Museum quality! You should find out the original retail price and add that to the ad - thousands of dollars, no doubt!

i was curious about the original price so... a google search yielded this...

"Far more successful was the ThinkPad 380 Series, an all-in-one design with a built-in hard drive and a CD-ROM stacked on top of the floppy drive. IBM classified the 380s as mid-priced, and sales were brisk. To meet the demand the company would manufacture one million 380s in 18 months. But with a suggested retail price of between $2,199 and $3,899"

from this page:

http://thinkpads.com/Genesis10.htm

according to this page:

http://home.comcast.net/~fbui/Linux-on-TP380ED.html

it'll run slackware reasonably well... :)

WOW!, and now people complain about a $1000.00 T61.
It's running Win 95 really fast right now. It looks like the original user only created about 15 office documents and never done anything else with it.
