FS or Trade: Intel 2915ABG wireless MiniPCI card 27K9936

#1 Post by RWDPLZ » Mon Aug 20, 2007 8:56 pm

For sale: Intel 2915 A/B/G MiniPCI wireless card, has an IBM FRU number, 27K9936. I tried installing it on my A31, but got a 'device cannot be started' code 10 error. I believe the card works, but not with A31's.

Asking $25 shipped, Paypal preffered, OR trade for an Intel 2200 B/G card, since that has been proven to work in A31's and is what I'd use the funds to buy.

Error

#2 Post by scosgt1 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 9:31 pm

Was that error in XP or in the BIOS?
I have used several different miniPCI wifi cards in A31's and this sounds like a resouce conflict or likely a bad card.

In XP. It gave the 1802 error, but the no-1802.com fixed that no problem. My problem is identical to what is described in these two threads:

http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... t=2915+a31

http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=39253

So I'm assuming it doesn't work with the A31.

That is interesting

I never saw that one before

I have a Toshiba Agere based miniPCI wifi card in my A31p and it works fine - no 1802 error and no problems in XP

I received the same error with several different 2915 cards on two X40's. I wound up using the IBM Atheros II's (a/b/g) without any issues.

I can confirm that the non-IBM 2200b/g works fine in my A31, no hack was needed.
