Anyone willing to swap a T30 SXGA+ lid with a T4x SXGA+ lid

I have a dead T30 with a SXGA+ screen, and I have a working T40 with a busted backlight LCD.
Anyone up for a swap of the lid assemblies?
BTW is it possible to put the T30 LCD into the T40 lid assembly ?

AFAIK, it is not possible.

Because the cables have different shapes? I think it's worth a try, using the LCD panel from the T30 with the T40's cable and inverter.

It's worth a try, since it doesn't cost anything to attempt it yourself, but I am pretty sure that the connectors on the back won't match...
DO NOT TRY TO PUT T30 LCD in T40

or you end up with a dead T40. Believe me, Been there done that, the cost is a dead T41p motherboard

when I put the T42p 15 inches flexview lcd with the 14 inches T40 sxga cable. Also, the LCD connector won't match from T30 to T40 .

I did exactly that last week, three times on the same T42 when I tried to use its SXGA+ cable to drive a UXGA screen. I got no image, but nothing died. Now, I can't guarantee that it's always safe to try these things, but I suspect that you damaged something else during the process.

The T41p motherboard still boot when attach to external monitor, but it won't when the native lcd is attached. I think the graphic controller chip is fried. By the way, I connected the T40 14" sxga cable with the 15" Sxga flexview. the result is my t41p become the desktop pc

Actually, it does make sense. I guess the 15.0" screen drew more power than the inverter (designed for 14.1") could safely supply. In my case, I used the T42's 14.1" inverter to test a 14.1" UXGA screen, so it was fine. Later, I tested a 15.0" UXGA Flexview on that same T42, but I used an inverter designed for 15.0", so again I had no problem.
The OP would be transferring a 14.1" LCD to a 14.1" T40, so it's probably safer than what you did. But
wearetheborg, proceed at your own risk!
