710T pen

I just found a 710T that i can pick up for a few bucks, but the owner says the pen is missing. I have seen the TransNote and all, but this little thing is news to me, and it's small and neat and all, so guess i want it...

Looks like i'm a pervert too, when it comes to weird Thinkpads...
So, the question: ThinkWiki says the 710T's got an 'electromagnetic' pen, so i guess you can't make a new one, like a stilus for a standard PDA?
Of course the 25MHz and the 4MB RAM look a bit too small to run a decent Linux, so maybe i'll try this "Windows for pen computing". Any experiences with that, anyone?
Thanks for any info!

Search for part# 53G7115. I have also seen mention of upgrading a 710 to run Win95, so you can look into that if you so desire.

Nice find...I'd love to get ahold of one of those...
I think that it will use the same pen as the 360P and the 750P, but I am not 100% sure....(I have both)

The 710T pen is slightly shorter than the one of the 360P and 750P but is otherwise the same.

Thanks for the info!
Impact computers doesn't ship to my country, but i found a few 730T pens on ebay. Do those work with the 710T?

It should.
(and FWIW, the spare IBM tablet pen I have laying around works with my Mitsubishi tablet computer)

Timoti,
I have both, 710T and 730TE. The 710T pen works with 730TE and vice versa. No problem.

Hello Guys!
I also have two ThinkPads with PEN:
730TE and 710T.
On both not only PC DOS is working with PEN extensions, I also be able to start TMENU and from there WIN 3.1/WIN95 with PEN.
I finally tried successfully also Palm Connect (a special GEOS/GEOWORKS version) with PEN and handwriting recognition! The Geoworks 2.01 also works fine with PEN.
So I can start on both machines:
- PC DOS with PEN
- WIN 3.1 with PEN
- or alternatevly WIN 95 with PEN
- GEOS with PEN and HWR
Nice, isn't it?
