SOLD: Complete IBM ThinkPad T40 with faulty motherboard.

This unit is supposed to have spill damage (I didn't see anything obvious by removing the keyboard, palmrest and bezel). When power is applied via a charged battery or the AC adapter, the power LED and one of the Ethernet port LEDs illuminates (see pix). Pressing the power button doesn't do anything. No sounds can be heard, the screen stays black.

I have tested all the parts including the CPU, fan, keyboard, DVD drive, wifi card, CDC, memory, LCD, etc. All work fine in another T40.

The motherboard needs repair, cleaning or replacement - please assume replacement.

The LCD is very bright and only has minor pressure marks/scratch that are not noticeable when in use.

This unit is complete and only missing two keys from the keyboard and the AC adapter. The lid shows some wear, the other plastics are in excellent condition. It's a great parts or project machine!

Below is the model info with the modifications to the original configuration.

PayPal, cash or USPS money order. $200 delivered in the U.S.
