Hello,

Selling a brand new (used for 20 minutes only) IBM Thinkpad T60p. I ordered it online from the US, where I could customise it to higher specs than I could find in any UK store (and at a lower price). When it arrived and I turned it on, I realised that I didn't like the screen, both because of the widescreen format and because it was not Flexview. I compared it side-by-side with my 15" T42 and I decided I wasn't happy. It might seem like a slight annoyance, and it is, but I wanted to be 100% and not 99% happy with it, so I went on and ordered a non-widescreen 15" T60 instead. Then I packed this one in its box and now it's looking for a new home.

More detailed specs:

* Intel Core 2 Duo processor (T7200) 2GHz with 4MB Cache.
* 2GB RAM (2 PC2-5300 DIMMs) (factory-installed)
* 120GB 5400 RPM Hard Disk
* WXSGA+ (1680x1050) 15.4" widescreen LCD display
* integrated fingerprint reader
* built-in wifi (there were two wireless card options - I chose the more expensive one)
* built-in bluetooth
* DVDRW 8x Dual Layer burner
* ATI Mobility FireGL V5250 256MB Video card
* Genuine Windows Vista Ultimate preinstalled and activated.

It's in excellent condition, has no defects of any type, no dead pixels in the screen, anything short of immaculate. It's in its original box with everything that came with it and also has Lenovo's 1-year worldwide warranty.

I have posted several pictures here:

Asking for £1100, negotiable. Models with similar specs sell here for upwards of £1700 so I consider this a fair price. I would like to sell it within the UK, preferably in London in a hand-to-hand transaction. I already had an almost successful scam attempt that I very narrowly escaped (I posted it on eBay and someone bought it with a stolen eBay/paypal ID and literally minutes before I would give it, the payment bounced back :shock: ) so I will be very cautious this time. I am new to this board but I have 80+ (100% positive) eBay feedback. I'm happy to answer any questions.

Welcome to the forum!

I'd recommend you include the seven-digit machine type and the expiration date on the warranty, and post links to pictures. Buyers love pictures. Heck, we all like to drool over nearly new ThinkPads!

thanks whizkid, you are right. Model number is 8743-CTO and warranty expiration date is 2008-06-15.

here are the pictures I took when I posted it on gumtree (they are small, I know, but I can take new ones if there's interest later)

For your own protection, you may want to remove the serial # from the post...you never know who's reading...

Hi, sorry, this is too low. I already have a couple of offers (not from this forum) at 800-850 pounds and was holding out for more.

By the way, I put it on eBay since I wasn't getting a lot of responses here. The item # is 330163872062.
Here's the link:

If you want to make an offer for it, I can still withdraw the listing. Of course you can also bid directly there if you wish. So far the price is (to my negative surprise) lower than most offers I had offline.
